About Brads Home Furnishings

Our History (1957-2017)

Brads Home Furnishings was founded in 1957 by Bradley Bromwell after returning from German reconstruction efforts in the U.S. Army. Bromwell opened the first store in Vevay, Indiana, and saw massive amounts of success, eventually opening more stores in Madison and Columbus, Indiana.

Corporate headquarters was moved to Columbus, Indiana in 1997. Shortly after, the wildly successful Brads Furniture Gallery was set up where present day sits the Columbus Area Arts Council. For years, families across Indiana came to the Gallery to furnish their homes.

Bradley unfortunately passed away on June 19th, 2015. The family made the tough decision to dissolve the company’s admin in 2017, and for nearly a decade, the company was closed.

A New Chapter (2026)

Fast forward to 2026. Bromwell-Poe Enterprises, LLC was formed with the help of Bradley’s grandson, where the idea of restarting the company was thrown around. BP ENT eventually executed this plan with the project starting in January and launching two months later in March of 2026. The company was rebuilt with a more modern approach—as an online store rather than a physical location—but the mission stayed the same: bringing quality furniture to people who want their home to feel right.

Present day, Brads Home Furnishings, Inc has been modernized, but we still keep its legacy alive by retaining the original logo and the values Bradley built the company on. Same commitment to quality. Same focus on the customer. Just a new way of getting furniture to your door.
